Chevrolet Ad "Balloon Man" - Among Top 50 Ads Around The World
My Chevy ad is selected among the top 50 entries around the world. This is the only ad film to be selected from India by Chevrolet.
One of these Chevrolet ad will run at US Super Bowl Basketball Tournament (at halftime), this spot costs millions of dollars to Chevrolet.
All selected entries are now posted on MSN website for public viewing and voting :-(.
Voting: This is one activity which i cant (asocial)....wont i.e. beg unknown/hardly known people/associates to watch my film and vote (sorry i am cynic to the core...for me people hardly have anytime for themselves all their lives...they are not interested in u...they are interested in their own pleasures of life -> Mahesh Bhatt knows this).
It was a very tiring effort to shoot the ad with minimum resources and non actors but i somehow managed and with God's grace it has come out well.
And here are the memories (...actually here is the proof....of course world needs proof...including ur parents)
I liked the description given for the ad by Chevrolet:
A son’s promise to his father becomes an inspiring reality through the gift of a Chevrolet. Film Fact: This warm and authentic work was conceived by an Indian filmmaker who, as a kid, used to eagerly wait for the balloon man to arrive, saving his pocket money for weeks to buy his cherished balloon (that can fly!!!).
Wow!!! -> Won Chevrolet production grant.
The deal was to submit a script for a 30s ad for Chevy and if get selected MOFILM would help grant the film.
I submitted 3 scripts and ultimately 1 of them was provided the grant.
Actually i thought that lot of people from India would have won the grant but it wasn't the case, only 5-6 people were selected from India and total around 137 people were provided the grant.
This stat has motivated me to make the film for Chevy and i would be making it very soon.
My Video: Pepsi Change The Game - Winner Pepsi Goa Film Festival - MOFILM
Wow this video just won fourth position @ Pepsi Goa Film Festival.
This is actually the first creative effort between me and my brother....and i am glad that it has won.
My brother dedicatedly shot all the footage and we have edited them together to submit our entry...We knew the video was good...but winning a spot in top five...Made Our Day!!!
Moreover our parents were elated by this news, Especially my dad who never really shows his emotions was very happy...May be cause of the cash prize {and love - i know}...
Fyi...As per my dad earning money is the most important thing in life - No Creativity without Money - and unfortunately as I get older (why ???) i have started to understand (and believe) that my dad actually has a point (see life corrupts you)...
My cousin got married recently...made a video for her...video has its moments which are brought alive by the song.......i love this song - its magical...
Wanted an entirely different take on Save Water Movie...By the way the lady above is my Maternal Grand Mother (My Nani) and one among the two ladies in my life (other being my mom)........and I love them both
My ode to one of my beloved track "Six Pence None The Richer -- Kiss Me"
I was thinking of my take on the song for a long time....finally........Hope any one who watches the video likes it.....I love it.............. !
This one i like most...as it gives a strong message in a smart/funny way.
...have seen people giving me whats the big deal with this movie/message...I dont know...i guess with a room and a kitchen - this is one is a hell good message in 60 secs or so.
Again made with my Nokia N70 phone. I hope people (like me) who know that world is strongly based on looks,,,,would like this message.... for rest of the tribe...be thankful to God....Someone really loves u out there in the other kingdom.
Oh man this movie has made it to the Official Selection of France Mobile Film Festival...they have selected 51 movies from all over the world in award category - and this one has made it.
At first 300 movies were selected from movies submitted all over the world (i don't know the total number...but seems pretty high) as part of First Selection List and then out of these 300 - finally 51 made it to the final Official category selection list.
Parad(b)ox is my take on a very serious problem that we face everywhere in world....made this movie with my Nokia N70 phone and i am glad that it came out good (at least for me and the French jury).
Made this movie in my friends house...the fact is that when u have no resources other than a mobile phone and a room and some friends and a sunday....U really need to think as to how to fit ur idea within the given constraints.
The good thing is that the movie has been selected in a festival and that too France ( Country is called Father of Cinema)....for me this news is equivalent to winning the festival.
The winning film will be selected by Jury and Public - This film has French telecom as partner and they will ask people to watch and vote for the movie they like most....and this is where my film wont score....as people will vote for friends and stuff...
But all thats OK with me...I am happy with what i got...
There's been so much hoopla about homosexuality off late...I think its no big issue cause the foundation of homosexuality is LOVE (lack of which is degrading mankind like rotten garbage)...
Had Watermelons few days back...they dont taste as good as they used to be ''once upon a time''...
Yes I agree, lot of things used to happen "Once Upon A Time" which is a dream now....Hope to have a more constructive future...will have to pick up lot of pieces and get them together.
Will keep myself and this blog Updated on my life....as this is the only space that seems mine in this world.
My roomates are going banana's...they bought "few" banana's this weekend (actually a lot if u ask me...but "few" as per their standards).
Incidentally both of my 'South-Indian' roomates can gulp 8-9 banana's (big ones am talking about...) in one go....one of them walked me thru the history of banana's (which actually was very nice of him...as per his-story South India is the birth place of Bananas...his-story had a southern flavour to it and i liked it)...
Am getting good at this deep shit........."Career Consultant : Me"....might not be joking....but then peoples careers will go for a toss....which gets me to :- what is a career???
Word "Career" looks good (read believable) on people earning Crores...not on salary class junks.
Why?..........Why?..........God just tell me Why? Why are we not Happy? Why we are just passing our lives, instead of living it? Why are we all suffering? Why cant we think big? Why cant we come out of our misery? Why can we see each other happy? Why are we Jealous of each other? Finally , I found my Answer : WE ARE NOT UNITED
...fuckers will think small cause they are all MEAN, JEALOUS, HYPOCRITES...I hate them ALL.
...thats some deep shit mathematics from my side :-)
...no matter what you do in life...loss,gain,happiness,sadness and all the things in life which you can think of...it all sums to ZERO...A big ZERO...thats all you get in the end.
Whole life of sitting in AC... A life of no Physical excercise... A life of Eating @ Mc Donalds.KFC.Pizza Hut.Dominos etc... A life of no respite to your eyes from TV,Computers,Xbox's,Playstations etc.
That is/will be our future...Have fun till troble get you.
Indian marriages are also going the American way...have fun till it lasts...and then leave saying this is my life...DISCOVER AND DIVORCE.
This scenario is especially growing among the mall junta (according to a report by TOI)...those dudes and chicks who think life is cool (KEWL)...so marriage would also be the same.
Went to Amity recently, for my relatives admission......Amity B-School..........dont know much about the B-School......but the crowd was hip and happening.........DUDES....CHICKS.......the campus was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai types..............straight out of Archies..........
Went to IIPM as well.............IIPM is one step ahead of Amity.......
IIPM takes the cake (with the cream as well) in terms of one of the most coolest crowd in the MBA GRAND PRIX...hip...happen-ing.........no wonder it so crowd-ed...
I would have loved to study at IIPM..........Yu Hota To Kya Hota????
